Built for real media relations.

Who is this course for?

PR agency owners, account managers, media relations specialists and writers who want stronger editorial judgment and a practical outreach operation. The examples are fictional teaching cases, and no purchase or real client data is required to practise.

Does it start with genuine editorial outreach?

Yes. The first module teaches general top-tier editorial principles without naming publications. Separate modules then examine Forbes, Inc. and TechCrunch. Supporting products appear as campaign tools after the editorial and relationship foundations.

How does it handle Forbes Councils?

Directly: Councils is a paid membership route with visible fee-based membership labelling. The course explains how it differs from independently earned newsroom coverage, how to set expectations before purchase and how to repair trust when an agency has described the route inaccurately.

How much time should I allow?

Each lesson contains at least 650 instructional words before the worksheet, quiz, sources and promotion. Allow about 10–15 minutes to study and 30 minutes for the practical task. The full path takes approximately 16–20 hours, depending on your starting material and experience.

Are coverage and rankings guaranteed?

No. The course teaches controllable preparation and outreach work, accurate route descriptions and evidence-based reporting. Editors, search systems, AI-answer systems and customers make decisions outside the agency’s control.

Where do Sitetrail products fit?

NewsPass supports SEO, PR and GEO goals. The Guest Post Marketplace lets customers hand-pick publications by audience fit, relevance and budget while retaining campaign control. The final module explains their supporting roles alongside your own outreach and distributed announcements.

Is learning and certification free?

Yes. The lessons, worksheets, scenario checks, assessment and certificate download are free. Every lesson ends with a labelled NewsPass or Guest Post Marketplace promotion. Buying a service is not required.

How are progress and results stored?

Lesson checks, first attempts, worksheets and assessment results stay in this browser when local storage is available. They do not sync across devices. Download copies to retain them; clearing browser data removes local records. Full assessment retakes become available after 30 days in the same browser.

Who created the course?

Adriaan Brits, CEO of Sitetrail, holds an MSc in Marketing and is a former LinkedIn Learning instructor in SEO, Advanced Google Analytics and Google Ads. Official publication and product references support the relevant route distinctions; practical frameworks and examples are original course teaching material.

Relevant evidence. Honest routes. Useful relationships.

Use the worksheets to turn each lesson into a real decision. Improve the campaign as you learn from reporting conversations, verified evidence and observed results.
