Module 12 / Lesson 67 · Read, apply, check
Draft a useful local service page with genuine location evidence and a clear next action.
Choose a real location or service area and ask what a customer needs to decide: coverage, travel, availability, accessibility or the service offered. A city name in a heading is not enough. The page should resolve a practical question specific to that audience.
Collect accurate address or coverage details, hours, access instructions, relevant staff expertise and locally applicable service information. Use genuine photographs and examples where available. Do not invent a branch, customer testimonial or local project to make the page look more substantial.
Connect the location page to the relevant service and contact or booking flow. Make telephone numbers and directions usable on a phone. Keep the offer and eligibility clear so the page attracts suitable enquiries rather than simply increasing form submissions from outside the service area.
A template can organize consistent information, but each page needs a real purpose. If ten proposed city pages all describe the same operation with swapped names, consider one clear service-area page. Expansion should follow genuine customer differences and operational capability.
Evening appointments + step-free entrance + branch A booking.
Sports rehabilitation + daytime hours + branch B booking.
Changed town name without new operational information.
Keep genuine location differences; reject invented branches.
Hypothetical example: a physiotherapy clinic has two real locations. One offers evening appointments and step-free access; the other has different opening hours and a specialist sports service. The marketer builds a page for each location with verified details, relevant practitioners and a direct appointment path. She asks reception to test whether a new patient can choose the right site and understand access before booking. The pages share a visual template but answer different practical questions. A nearby town without a clinic is mentioned only where actual service coverage makes that useful; the business does not invent a third address to create another keyword target.
A contractor serves one metropolitan area from a single base and proposes fifty near-identical town pages. None adds coverage details, local evidence or different service information. Publishing all fifty would multiply maintenance without demonstrating additional usefulness. A well-maintained service-area page and a few genuinely distinct resources may serve customers better. The decision should be made from user needs, not an assumed quota of location URLs.
Misconception: every nearby town requires a separate page. Page boundaries should follow meaningful differences in customer tasks and operations. Swapping a place name is not the same as adding local value.
Some organizations need many location pages because they have many genuine branches. The lesson is not to prohibit templates or scale, but to require accurate data, ownership and a useful reason for each destination.

Before: “Best clinic in every nearby town” repeated across copied pages
After: A verified branch page explaining evening appointments, access and booking

Two genuine clinic branches have different opening hours, access arrangements and specialist services. A marketer also wants pages for nearby towns where no clinic exists. Which content plan best supports local customers while keeping the website accurate and maintainable?
