Module 02 / Lesson 07 · Read, apply, check
Use public expertise and specific observations to make direct outreach warmer and more credible.
Choose recurring questions from discovery calls, client interviews and delivery work. Turn each into a clear point, supporting evidence and practical implication. For an agency selling market-entry work, useful topics might include weak customer proof, confused positioning or the difference between a launch announcement and a story. Feed Grok your notes and source material before asking for drafts. Original observations and informed judgment give the content a reason to exist beyond maintaining a posting schedule.
A comment can add an example, clarify a tradeoff or ask a specific question. Generic praise rarely demonstrates expertise. Read the post and its context before replying; a bot should not infer the author’s position from a headline alone. Prioritize conversations where your target buyers are actually discussing a relevant business problem. The objective is recognition through useful participation, not leaving your agency name under as many posts as possible.
Personalization should explain why this person is receiving this message now. Reference a relevant business change or a point they made, then connect it to a plausible question. Avoid mentioning unrelated hobbies or flattering achievements merely to prove you looked at the profile. Keep the first message short enough to understand without opening an attachment. An invitation to discuss a useful problem should feel proportionate to the relationship you have actually established.
Tag replies by the buyer issue they reveal: evidence gaps, unclear measurement, lack of spokesperson time or distrust of previous agencies. Use these themes to improve posts and offers without exposing private conversations. A weekly review can show which topics create qualified dialogue. Compare conversations and meetings, not only reactions. A post with modest reach can be commercially valuable if it helps the right buyer recognize a problem and trust your judgment.
Explain a recurring buyer problem with an example.
Add a relevant distinction to an existing discussion.
Ask a specific question tied to the buyer’s situation.
Record the reply theme and improve the next insight.
A fictional agency founder notices that prospects repeatedly ask whether a press release alone will help a new market understand their product. She writes a post comparing an announcement with a customer-backed explanation, using a clearly labelled sample. Grok helps shorten the draft while preserving her argument and evidence. Under a marketing director’s related post, she adds a specific example of the missing customer question. When the director replies, she continues the discussion rather than immediately sending a calendar link. Later, she asks whether their upcoming expansion has the same evidence challenge. The conversation has a commercial purpose, but each step contributes something useful and follows the buyer’s demonstrated interest rather than a rigid sequence of promotional messages.
Another agency publishes daily AI summaries of generic marketing advice and leaves identical praise under dozens of posts. Its direct messages begin with the recipient’s name and a compliment, then switch to an unrelated service list. This is personalized formatting without personalized relevance. Even if the content attracts reactions, the agency learns little about buyer needs because its public participation and private offers are disconnected from a specific market or business situation.
Posting more often is not a substitute for having something useful to say. A manageable cadence of evidence-backed ideas can create a stronger commercial signal than daily repetition. Use automation to organize and refine your expertise, while preserving the observations and distinctions that make it yours.
Do not turn a private client discussion into a public case without appropriate permission. Anonymization must remove identifying details where needed. If you use an invented example, label it clearly and avoid presenting illustrative performance figures as actual agency results.

Before you move on
Your posts receive reactions from other agency owners, but your target marketing directors rarely start conversations. Your bot proposes publishing twice as often using the same broad topics. Which change would most directly improve the commercial relevance of the workflow?
