Sites include , . Published on September 10th, 2012. Written by Daniel Renfro.

There are various domain name-selling companies on the Internet today. Companies such as these bring in a lot of revenue and are very successful due to the popularity of doing business online. Just as there are many different domain name-selling companies to choose from when looking into purchasing a domain name, there are thousands of domain names to pick from also. This allows businesses to choose a domain name that best fits their company and the products or services they are involved in, and it also allows them to find a domain name that fits into their budget. Some domain names can be pretty pricey, even costing from 5 to 6 figures, whereas others are only a couple hundred dollars. Though prices may cause businesses to hesitate it is definitely worth the expense since the Internet is such a convenient and popular place to do business these days.

Thankfully there are web sites like Domain News that put out updates on the top sales that happen through the many domain name selling companies. This week was no different. The highest selling gTLD domain name was Quorom.net which sold for $19,000. This is a good price for a non-.com domain name.

Here are the top 15 sales that occurred through various domain name selling companies recently:

1. Quorom.net    $19,000

2. RAK.net   $18,000

3. Car-Games.net   $17,000

4. MultipleSclerosis.net  $14,000

5. Finances.net   $12,915

6. AugmentedReality.org    $12,000

7. AlabamaNews.net   $10,000

8. Webmaster.net  $9,840

9. Today.net   $9,500

10. OFL.net   $6,427

11. StAnthonys.org   $6,386

12. ClassicComedy.org   $6,000

13. DBD.net   $5,500

14. Tactics.net   $5,400

15. Pali.biz    $5,330

This list is interesting and unusual in that they are the not the typical .com sales, and they are known as gTLD domain names. This includes domain names that end in .net, .org, .biz, etc.

Check out Sedo.com, Afternic.com, NameJet.com, GoDaddy.com, and research about others, if interested in purchasing a domain name. This is a very wise business decision to move online and there are many companies to choose from to fit your budget and needs.
