50,000 People Visit Apple Genius Bar Every Day

Sites include . Published on September 10th, 2012. Written by Anthony West.

Any news that Apple might be laying off staff is bad news—both for Apple and the staff concerned. And so it was with rapid-action that the company took steps to quell rumors of layoffs and staff dissatisfaction recently; going as far as to even give numbers behind the daily service levels of Apple stores.

According to the Apple correction, the 375 Apple outlets have served over 300 million visitors since the start of the year. It added that another 50,000 visitors a day visit its expert assistance service—dubbed the Genius Bar.

Rumors swirled after it as reported by the Wall Street Journal that Apple was to implement a new ‘staffing formula’ which would eventually see shifts being cut and retails stores not having the regular staffing complements. Apple’s Kristin Huguet sought to clarify things: “Making these changes was a mistake and the changes are being reversed, our employees are our most important asset and the ones who provide the world-class service our customers deserve.”

That statement will no doubt go a long way in calming fears; not just at the staffing level but at the investor level where Apple stocks have been doing so well it is now the world’s largest company by market cap.

Things look to have been sorted for now, but rest assured, if something bad is rotten in the state of Apple, the stench won’t go unnoticed for long.
