SongPop Hits 25 Million Users
SongPop, the social game that lets users interact by naming tunes among other things has just surpassed an important milestone.
Launched in May of this year, the social gaming app which is integrated into Facebook has grown to a whopping 25 million users. Publisher of the game, FreshPlanet says that the game is now seeing 4 million daily active users and 16 million monthly active users on Facebook.
In real terms the growth has been nothing short of extraordinary. In July SongPop had just 2 million daily active users which means that engagement has doubled in just over 2 months and the game’s rankings are also taking off. According to popular engagement ranker, Inside Social Apps, SongPop is presently at number 12 and has some pretty big names alongside it.
The game is second in terms of speed of growth and is bettered only by the Washington Post Social Reader app. What has also set SongPop apart from the competition is that it seems to have genuine staying power. When most new social games fizzle after a strong start, SongPop seems to be gaining momentum.
Users (including Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg) have hinted to the games addictive nature and this might explain why the overall numbers are growing whilst at the same time sending engagement through the roof.
