Microsoft Outlook.com Now Has 10 Million Users
Hotmail is dead! Well, sort of. Microsoft is looking to completely rebrand Hotmail under a new moniker, Outlook.com and so far it seems to be working. According to a release from the company, there are now over 10 million registered users on the Outlook.com platform.
Of course Hotmail has tens of millions of users and when the updates take full effect, Outlook.com will have far more users under its belt. For now, Microsoft seems committed to giving all its products the fresh new metro design that is built into Windows 8. The company recently announced an updated UI for SkyDrive.com; which incidentally, is heavily influenced by Outlook.com and Windows 8. According to Microsoft, the updated SkyDrive is now 100% complete and as many will discover looks like a complete face-lift.
Microsoft seems to have finally worked out how to make software that is both functional and elegant and Windows 8 users look to be in for a treat. Those who are interested in adding a bit of flair and pizzazz to their Windows experience will be able to do so for as little as $14.
The revamped SkyDrive and newly launched Outlook.com is also a wonderful taster for anyone looking to get hooked on the Microsoft experience perhaps for the first time. Even with the hefty price tags for most of the Microsoft software, the cool new features and UIs certainly make for an interesting punt.
Take a look at the video below for a glimpse into the sleek metro design for Microsoft products:
