You've made valid points, for sure. But as a Beetles fan I am sure you can make room in your understanding for this generation. When the Beetles ruled supreme it was also said that "they are loved, adored, and worshiped by way too many"

Whether we like it or not popularity in the age of social media is a very real and measurable metric. In the 60s this was done via record sales; today its done with not just record sales but Facebook 'Likes' as well.

At any rate, thanks for commenting.

Facebook and Eminem prove once again that the masses are asses. I never cared for Eminem... his "tough guy" image has been, is, and always will be a joke to me - and many others. My sister could kick his ass. Anthony West, you are, quite simply, wrong. These "celebrities" are not loved by all - but they are loved, adored, and worshiped by way too many.

I realized years ago that beauty - like so many other things - is in the eye of the beholder. I also realized that everyone makes judgements - even if they claim to not do so. Eminem's (and other rappers') rants and melodramatic discourse is something that is popular today - particularly with the "rebellious" youth that come along with each new generation seeking their own voice and style. Facebook is another fad that will fade or morph into something very different someday. Many already see Facebook to be (for the most part) a superficial social media tool that has some - but very limited - genuine merit in current society.

George Harrison was so right... it really is all up to what you value. Some truths never change.
