Guy Made $8,000 In Single Day Using Facebook Ads

One success story isn’t enough to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the efficacy of Facebook ads, but when the story involves a $8,000 profit from a $150 ad spend, you gotta pay attention.

Last week there was a firestorm of controversy after advertisers reported getting a ton of bot traffic to their ads on Facebook. The social networking giant moved swiftly to allay fears and this latest story will only help it to attract more advertisers.

The good news comes from entrepreneur Brendan Irvine-Broque, the director of growth for PageLever. In a revealing post on his personal blog, Broque claimed that he sold over 6,000 vintage records at an event held in his back yard. Nearly 400 people turned up at the event and hours later, he was counting around $10,000 in cash.

Broque’s strategy was simple; he created an event on Facebook and bought $150 in ads to promote the event. The paltry ad budget was all he needed and as soon as the viral nature of Facebook took over, he had confirmations from 341 people. Another 104 said they might attend, but that didn’t matter. The word was already out and it looks like Broque was only limited by the number of records he had for sale at his event.

So, does this mean Facebook ads are for everyone, and that it’s easy to turn a profit on there? The short answer is no; there are still many companies who even with legitimate clicks are still losing money.

The one thing advertisers can take from this example is that Facebook events are good anchors for getting people to come to an offline event and buy your stuff.
