iCloud Hits 150 Million Users

The last time we covered Apple’s iCloud service we reported that the platform had just over 125 million registered users. But with Apple being Apple and not standing still, we are here again to tell you about some new changes.

The company recently had its Q3 earnings call recently and revealed some of the juicy data that investors like to hear. iCloud now stands at 150 million users, up from the 125 million announced in April. iTunes is also doing very well with revenues totaling $1.8 billion.

iPad sales are also doing very well with 17 million being sold in the reporting period. There was also a reported 26 million iPhones sold during the period. I guess it’s fair to say then that Apple is doing very well and there are no signs that the company is going to slow down. The latest iteration of Apple’s OS X is almost here and based on reports coming out of the company, platforms like the iCloud will be even more tightly woven into it.

Analysts expect a bevy of sales from first-time Apple buyers and the promise of Mountain Lion will drive most of these new sales.

All in all, not a bad quarter for the company and Q4 should be even better. By that time the new operating system would have been out and the much anticipated release of the iPhone should be nearer to D-Day.
