Box Now Has 11 Million Users
Just recently we wrote about the growth of Google Drive and its 10 million users; now we bring you news of Box.com which itself has seen some growth. The company is now standing at 11 million users strong.
The company recently added some spice to its Android presence with the release of OneCloud. The new service allows users to integrate their productivity apps with Box, thus making downloading and uploading files easier. Box has also added 50 launch partners to help boost its enterprise offering and by all accounts, the company is sitting pretty well with its users.
Box CEO, Aaron Levie sounded quite visionary when he chimed in about the launch of OneCloud: “Box OneCloud offers the most complete suite of productivity tools for today’s post-PC enterprise. The way people work is radically changing. With Box, IT departments and the mobile workforce now have a unified platform to securely manage applications and content from any device or location.”
More than 120,000 businesses rely on Box’s servers for storage and super-fast access of files and 40% of Box’s 11 million users access the platform via their mobile devices.
With such features and a growing list of things to keep users happy, Box should be able to grow and carve out its niche among cloud users. It may not have the reach of a Dropbox or the marketing leverage of a Google Drive but it still can do well in the space.
