Google Drive Now Has 10 Million Users
These days storage cloud storage is ubiquitous and getting 2 – 10 GBs of free storage isn’t difficult. This ease and ubiquity didn’t stop Google from entering the pace though and the search giant launched Google Drive back in April of this year.
In just a few months Google Drive has garnered over 10 million users and growing. That growth is expected to increase dramatically now that the storage platform now caters to iOS users. Google announced recently that Google drive now supports iOS and Chrome OS.
If all those additions weren’t enough, Google also announced the updating of Drive SDK with a version 2. This update now allows files created with 3rd party apps to be stored alongside everything else. More options, more flexibility as they say.
Google Drive obviously has had the benefit of Google’s internal marketing and discovery machine (Gmail in particular). It will be interesting to see how it scales itself beyond the maturity point with its users. Perhaps if Apple users take it to it well, there can be some really big numbers outside of this internal marketing base, but only time will tell.
For now users can enjoy all the benefits of solid cloud storage from a company that makes things easy and simple.
