250 Million iPhones Generated $150 Billion In Revenue To Date
5 years ago when Apple under the charisma of Steve Jobs launched the iPhone many said it would flop. For most it was too much of a revolutionary product and the market wouldn’t know how to accept it.
The experts has history has shown were dead wrong and today the iPhone is not just a smartphone, it is an icon; much like all the products that Jobs sired into this world. To date the iPhone has generated over $150 billion in revenues. This massive amount of money has been made on the back of 250 million sales and amounts to just over $600 per phone.
Of course the phone itself doesn’t cost that much in the stress but that goes to show how with volume the product has been able to add to the Apple bottom line. The iPhone is celebrating its 5th birthday and Apple is about to drop the 5th incarnation of the phone. Some believe it will be a game changer once again, while others believe that Apple put too much in the seminal device 5 years go.
Like most things Apple, only the consumer market will determine fate. The experts were wrong 5 years ago and there is no reason to think they may not be wrong again.
