Guy Watches 252 Netflix Movies In A Single Month
Mark Malkoff is a comedian who obviously has too much time on his hands. Malkoff recently took on a challenge of watching 252 Netflix movies which amounted to 404.25 hours of streaming content. The feat (if you can call it that) was noticed by the guys over at Netflix who decided to pay homage to Malkoff and invited him over to their HQ. Whilst there he met the ‘man’ of the enterprise, CEO Reed Hastings and got to sit in the auditorium and see videos of the challenge.
But perhaps the biggest surprise was the declaration of June 11 as ‘Mark Malkoff Day’ an honor which although is a nice one for Malkoff, probably won’t mean much outside of the walls of Netflix.
Malkoff gave an interview about the experience where he talked about the support he got from friends and family: “Watching 252 films in a month was like a mini-school. I enjoyed it, but it was challenging at times — especially watching 29.4 hours of closing credits in a month. … Everybody was really supportive of my Netflix project, except my internet service provider who I’m pretty sure hates me.”
In the end I think both Malkoff and Netflix have won; the comedian gets a bit of limelight and Netflix of course, sells a few more subscriptions.
