37% Of Facebook Users Are Single
Facebook is perhaps the best place to check the pulse of relationships in America and indeed most of the world. The social networking giant has massive collection of data shared by users about their relationship status that it can accurately predict how happy you are with your other half.
A comprehensive study conducted by World Wide Learn found that a 37% of Facebook users are single and 25% of users announced that they had found a relationship. Only about 3% admitted that their status was ‘complicated’ a euphemism for ‘I am seeing someone but they happen to be seeing someone else too’.
The last point is important, especially as it relates to marriages because according to some surveys, around 25% of divorce cases in the US cite Facebook as factor for the proceedings. It looks like Facebook makes it not only easy to share stuff about how happy you are, it also helps you to cheat easily too.
At any arte the new survey is perhaps a goldmine for advertisers who would be looking to sell stuff to people at the various stages of their relationship. Facebook isn’t a dating site and so such advertisers have at least that going in their favour as they try to lure users onto their platforms.
