GigaOm Receives 5.5 Million Visitors Per Month
GigaOm might be a tad bit confusing when it comes to pronunciation but the language of money is a lot clearer and easier on the tongue. According to reports the tech news network may be up for sale with several big name publications in the running to buy.
It seems from the reports that Bloomberg and Dow Jones may be front runners although neither have confirmed or denied their interest in buying the network of site. There’s no talk yet about ‘cost’ but if the numbers behind GigaOm are nothing to go by, we can get a sense of the value that is inherent in such a sale.
The network of what are essentially blogs, gets around 5.5 million visitors a month and the majority of these visitors are tech savvy and not afraid to spend money. In other words, the majority of visitors to sites like GigaOm are owners of Apple products and very much in tune with what’s going on in the field of technology. These attributes of course, makes all 5.5 million monthly uniques prime target for advertisers.
The rumor of GigaOm’s sale comes fresh on the heels of talks that CNN is looking to buy Mashable. It is therefore starting to look that like content sites are the new internet gold.

Congratulations on a possible sale!
I think the perfect buyer for GiGaOm would be Bloomberg, more specifically I think it could extend their reach in a TV show similar to Bloomberg West. I really believe there is a untapped market in this sector. There will 1,000′s of new start-ups and technologies that need exposure as well as millions of consumers looking for tips and advice..
As more and more people around the world switch to smart phones and tablets, technologies will continue to explode.
Entrepreneurs and consumers will always need advice!
