Apple Retail Employees Get A $4 Per Hour Raise

There’s perhaps no better company to work for right now than Apple; business is good, there’s lots of cash in the bank and store employees can’t take a break given the amount of foot traffic that Apple stores are seeing.

All reasons then that employees at Apple’s retails stores are about to get a $4 an hour raise. In an economic age when large companies are cutting jobs (Yahoo, HP et al) this is great news. The pay rise many will argue is well overdue and the fact is the company has received numerous complaints from employees about the meagreness of the wages; despite this though; Apple could’ve easily shed some belly fat as opposed to committing millions in pay.

This latest gesture will also add to the encouragement of retail staff that only in May got news that those with restricted stick units will begin receiving dividend payments. Although these dividend payments won’t be anywhere as handsome as those paid to regular stock holders, the gesture is a very encouraging one.

Apple’s kind treatment of staff will no doubt serve it well in the coming months. Staff will be busy handling queries and sales of not only the recently-launched iPad, but also the iPhone 5 which is eagerly anticipated to go on sale later this year.
