Sites include . Published on June 30th, 2012. Written by Daniel Renfro.

Every where you go nowadays you hear and see things about weight loss. Ads are out on the radio, TV, internet, etc for different types of weight loss programs and solutions. People are always conscious of their weight, no matter the time or place, and many weight loss programs seem to be successful or at least attract a lot of attention. With the prevalence of technology in this age, it is getting easier to keep track of one’s weight loss success. One of these types of sites, Map My Fitness, has been around since 2005 on the internet and it is an online health and fitness site that seeks to help people reach their healthy goals. They have just recently announced that they have hit 9 million users!

Over the past 40 days, there have been over 1 million registrations on Map My Fitness. They have added over 3 million users in the past 5 months and the CEO says that they are expecting 25,000 new registrations per day!

Here is some more information about just what this site has to offer its users:

MapMyFitness is a veteran of the online health and fitness space, with the first iteration of its website appearing back in the summer of 2005. Since then, the startup has developed a suite of fitness-oriented websites (like MapMyRUN.com, MapMyRIDE.com, MapMyWALK.com, et al) to let users track and store their running, cycling, walking and hiking endeavors, along with accessing a database of international routes, fitness calculators, nutrition tracking, events listings and more. MapMyFitness has long had a stable community of committed users, but over the last year, things have been moving steadily north.

CEO Richard Jalichandra (who joined the startup from Technorati last year) tells us that MapMyFitness recently passed 9 million registered users, and that, collectively, its mobile apps have amassed over 30 million downloads, making it one of the biggest players in the fitness tracking space.”
