YouMail Hits 17.5 Million Users

Cloud and voicemail communications management platform is making the leap from small scale operation to large scale player. The company behind YouMail is reporting that well over 17.5 million users are now on the platform and as the exposure grows, that number is expected to grow even more.

What sets YouMail apart is how well it handles calls and voicemail—all from the cloud. One of the biggest features is the smart-voicemail feature which lets calling easier and somewhat more personal. Voicemails can be setup to use the caller’s name and may even be played through Twitter and Facebook. It also has a very robust caller ID mechanism which lets users see precisely who is calling before they pickup.

That YouMail is has been able to amass 17.5 million users since 2009 is somewhat astonishing considering that the platform is presently only available in the US. Presently US users on Android, iOS, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 are able to tap into the platform’s unique features. It’s not clear if there are plans to expand further across North America into Canada or even if there will be an Asian iteration of the platform. Interested users will just have to watch the space, I suppose.

At any rate, it’s a platform that is clearly growing and 17.5 million users aren’t bad in the present crowed world of applications.
