60.com Domain Name Sold For $310,000

Sites include . Published on June 15th, 2012. Written by Daniel Renfro.

The Domain Name Journal puts out weekly domain name sales reports. This week, ending May 6th, the top domain name sale was 60.com which sold for the HUGE 6 figure amount of $310,000. This domain name sale was pushing half a million dollars! It is hard to imagine a domain name being sold for this much. The domain name was sold through Kuwait.net.

The second highest domain name sale was Leo.com which sold for $120,000. This was also a very big sale for Sedo.com.

The third highest domain name was Bosnia.com which sold for $100,000.

Talk about some incredible sales for the domain name world this week! I wish I had 6 figures to blow on a domain name!

The .com domain names were the most prevalent again this week, with 18 out of the 20 top spots.

Here are the top 20 domain name sales according to the report from Domain Name Journal Weekly:

1. .60.com $310,000

2.LEO.com $120,000

3.Bosnia.com $100,000

4.OnlineFreeGames.com $90,000

5.GameTruck.com $58,000

6.Season.com $47,000

7.Wrapp.de $45,215

8.LivingTree.com $41,500

9.Drill.com $40,500

10.OxygenSensor.com $35,000

11.Duma.com $30,000

12.REITS.com $30,000

13.SmartCamera.com $29,200

14.GaySingles.com $23,000

15.TwinEngine.com $18,000

16.WandTattoo.com  $15,894

17.Lampa.pl $15,480

18.AuPairJobs.com $15,000

19.HireANanny.com $15,000

20.SecondPress.com $15,000

All of these top 20 domain names are pretty interesting, however the most unique ones were Gaysingles.com (which I’m sure we can all guess what it will be used for in the future and will probably be pretty successful), WandTattoo.com (it will be interesting to see what that one becomes), and 60.com (which is very unique since it is a number but took the top sales position).

Another interesting thing about this sales report is that Sedo.com did not take the top sale for this week. Yes, they did hold second place for the top sale, but it is a bit refreshing that another domain name selling company took the lead for once. I’m sure Sedo will come right back at them and give every one a run for their money next week.
