Baidu Reports 75% Increase In Q1 Revenue

Sites include . Published on May 26th, 2012. Written by Daniel Renfro.

Baidu is the top internet search engine for the company of China. It is probably the equivalent to Google in America. Search engines are very popular on the internet. They are the basis for various information gathering. Through these search engines it makes basically every fact, type of information, etc available to all internet users. These search engines are what make the world wide web so useful and resourceful.

Baidu has recently reported a increase of 75% in Q1 revenue.

“The company’s revenues for the quarter came in at RMB4.264 billion ($677.1 million), a 75 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Baidu’s earning per share came in at $0.87. Net income was up almost 76 percent compared to Q1 2011, to RMB1.883 billion ($299 million).”

Even though they have had quite the success in their revenue, their prices per share have suffered. They have gone down 10%.

Despite this concern over shares, Baidu is expected to continue to do well over the course over the year. Their revenue is supposed to show over a 50% increase over a year’s time when it is all said and done.

This specific case of China and its most profitable search engine company just shows how technology is advancing and serving people on the world wide web. There is definitely a future in basically anything technological at this point in time since people are so open to new advances and use the internet and rely on it more than ever.

It will be interesting to see how Baidu and China and its internet usage and companies continue to grow, as well as other international countries. It’s easy to forget sometimes that the United States is not the only country advancing but the world as a whole. It’s crazy to think about how far technology has come in just that past 2 decades and kind of scary to think of where it will go with the next two!
