Apple Sold 35.1 Million iPhones & 11.8 Million iPads In Q2 2012
Apple seems to be incapable of doing wrong and in keeping with this positive trend, the company announced record sales for its flagship iPhone and iPad products.
According to Apple, it sold 35.1 million iPhones in its second fiscal quarter and over 11.8 million iPads. Both numbers were slightly off by analyst estimates but in the end the overall numbers were great—the prediction was 30.5 million iPhones and 12 – 13 million iPads.
As is reasonable expected Apple’s fiscal numbers are also very solid. The company made $39.2 billion in sales for the second fiscal quarter and beat analyst expectations that had set revenue projections at $36.7 billion.
Needless to say Apple CEO Tim Cook, is excited about the performance of the company and of the iPad especially. Said Cook: “We’re thrilled with sales of over 35 million iPhones and almost 12 million iPads in the March quarter. The new iPad is off to a great start, and across the year you’re going to see a lot more of the kind of innovation that only Apple can deliver.”
The rest of the year can only get better for Apple with the release of the iPhone 5 and when that drops, revenues should shoot even higher.
