Yammer Offers Ex-Yahoo Employees $25,000 Signing Bonus

Yahoo is a popular web site on the Internet that offers many services for the sites members and visitors. They have a search engine, music features, celeb news, and is somewhat of a social media site as well as a e-mail server. The list could go on and on of what all Yahoo has to offer. They were also very well known back in the day when instant messaging was so popular. The company has been around for awhile and many still use the web site for various things, even if it’s not as popular as it used to be due to social networking sites of a larger scale.

Recently there has been quite the scandal regarding the Yahoo company. Apparently they are going to be suing Facebook due to them  infringing multiple patents, a total of 10, that are social network and advertisement related. These ideas are welcomed by the majority of those on the internet though apparently Yahoo takes offense to them enough to drop the “sue” bomb. Not surprisingly there has been a lot of return fire towards Yahoo for this. The CEO of Yammer encouraged and challenged all Yahoo employees to not only leave the company, but said they would not hire anyone from the Yahoo company anymore if they did not leave within 60 days. This statement obviously got a lot attention and cost the Yammer CEO some criticism with which he turned around and in order to cover up his mistake and maybe even to butter up the Yahoo employees, he know is offering a $25,000 signing bonus to employees that leave Yahoo for Yammer.

This is a lot of drama going on for Yahoo and Yammer, but it is doing some positive advertising for Yammer and will even probably further along their business while making Yahoo look like dirt. It will be interesting to see how many bites Yammer gets from the $25,000 bait they through out to the Yahoo employees.
