Facebook Has 37 Million Brand Pages
By now it should be obvious to anyone with a brand or a brain that Facebook is definitely where the action is. Sure, Google+ is emerging, but Facebook is already ‘here’. Very little surprise therefore, that a whopping 37 million brand pages now exist on the world’s largest social network.
Details of the number of resident pages emerged after Facebook announced the upcoming forced—migration of all brand pages to the new ‘Timeline’ design feature. Apparently, based on one report, over 8 million page admins opted for the new feature ahead of the planned changes. These is a clear sign as any that people managing their brands on Facebook take it very seriously and want to leave nothing to chance.
And what of this new design? Well already a few brands are reporting increased fan interaction and increased fans. Dr Pepper for instance is reporting a 83% increase in reach over a 28 day period, and the company is also reporting increased engagement of 80%. Not bad for a just upgrading to a new design change—a design change that is worth mentioning didn’t have the full support of the Facebook community.
Timeline is clearly here to stay and if brands benefit more and more from its existence, Facebook will do all it can to tweak and make it better.
