Apple recently marked the surpassing of 25 billion downloads in its Apps store so there is little wonder than many App developers are cashing in big time and having massive success with their applications. One such App is from Etsy, a handmade and vintage eCommerce site that has made quite a name for itself by breaking the mold in much of what it does.

The company launch a App developer competition in spring 2011 and the winner was selected to be the official iPhone App for Etsy. Somehow this App has managed to gain favor among 1 million Apple App store enthusiasts. The App has grown between 25 and 60% each month since it became a part of the App store and users are currently averaging around 30 pageviews per visit.

Etsy’s success is a prime example of just how vibrant the Apple ecosystem has become. It attracts so many users and so many developers that the App store seems to be a grand market of ideas, sharing and downloading. And the good thing about this trend is that developers like Etsy are not just having fancy numbers to report on; many are actually making money.

Even apple boasted recently of its contribution to the employment sector. According to data released by the company, more than 200,000 jobs are directly or indirectly attributed to the growing App market it has helped to pioneer.

Overall I would say that both Etsy and Apple are doing well; do you agree?
