Attachments.me Now Accounts For 40 Million Gmail Attachments
If you’ve ever tried to find an attachment in your email only to give up in frustration then don’t worry; your pain is being felt and thanks to Attachment.me, that pain can now be alleviated. The start-up which goes by mantra, “hunt attachments down. Fast” recently announced a series of new features that will make filing and subsequent searching of emails more efficient.
The company announced a new feature that allows for automatic filing of attachments into specific folders in the cloud. The new feature comes with key integration with Box.com, a service that now joins Dropbox.com as Attachment.me’s chief cloud storage partners.
The company is also quick to point out that its core function is helping people with email and is urging users to help boost the 40 million or so Gmail attachments that it currently has under management.
While Gmail users may be happy, users of other services like Hotmail and Yahoo Mail are biting their nails in anticipation. To date, only Gmail is supported and the owners of the attachment sorting service are hoping that they’ll be able to add to the $500,000 seed funding that the company managed to raise ;last year. Once this new funding comes on stream, it’s expected to increase the offerings to other email providers as well as boost the additional attachment and file-sorting features.
