Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.
Facebook’s 845 Million Users Are Worth $4.39 Each
Are you on Facebook? If so, have you ever considered just how much you are worth to Mark Zuckerberg and his friends? Well, I spare you the suspense. You are worth roughly $4.39 to Zucks—this is after you break down its annual revenues by the total number of users that are active on the platform. Facebook filed its active numbers stats with the SEC in preparation for its upcoming IPO and it revealed that the total number of active users is sitting around 845 million. Set against the $3.71 billion in revenues generated last year, it generates the figure mentioned above.
Your worth to Facebook mustn’t be underestimated for it was only at the end of the 2010 that Facebook had around 608 million active users. The 39% jump just 12 months later is a big reason the company is planning flotation at a staggering $100 billion. You might be a bit annoyed that you are considered a revenue center, but hey, you didn’t expect to get to use such a nice platform for free without any catches did you? The fact that you are seen as ad inventory is a small price to pay when you really think about it.
One good bit of news I suppose is that when Facebook does go public, you might end up being worth more.
