Lady Gaga Joins Google+
There are many social networking sites on the world wide web today. Everyone remembers Myspace which was primarily a hit about 10 years ago and which has taken a big hit from the popularity and emergence of Facebook and Twitter and various other social networking sites. Facebook is probably the most popular social networking site right now with Twitter not too far on its heels. Another up and coming social networking site is Google + which is through Google.com. It is very new and recently opened to the public though it is definitely not as well known or popular as Facebook or even Twitter, it will be interesting to see how its popularity grows and if/when it really takes off.
On many social networking sites celebrities of all kinds use these sites as a fan base, advertisement, and just basic updates of what is going on in their lives. This is especially true of Twitter, however it seems that it is going to be this way on Google + as well since everyone wants to know what all the hype is about and be some of the first to get in on the new social media sites as they come out.
Lady Gaga recently joined Google + and it is surprising since she is a popular celebrity on Facebook and Twitter. Here are some possible reasons why she has joined recently:
“Danny Sullivan suggests Google’s “Search Plus Your World” features may have played a role, given that when you search Google now for “music,” there is a good chance you’ll see Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg because of their Google+ profiles. Other musicians will likely follow suit. Sullivan also notes the lack of another popular-on-social media artist, Justin Bieber from Google+.”
So maybe Google + will see more celebrities looking to promote their businesses or music in the near future and I’m sure many will be glad to have Lady Gaga as well as maybe Justin Bieber on board in the near future.
