80% Of Social Media Traffic Goes To Facebook
Social media traffic is becoming big business, and those who can dominate the space are fast becoming the ones who can attract the biggest advertising dollars. Right now no other player in the social media games dominates like Facebook and a recent study has helped to confirm just how much the social networking giant ‘owns’ all other players in the market.
The study was conducted by Palo Alto and looked at the landscape of social media, particularly as it relates to its impact on work and the importance of key players in the industry. Facebook was found to be dominant to the point where 80% of all social media traffic worldwide.
The figure helped to underscore Facebook’s importance and role in shaping the way people use and perceive social media. Businesses for instance whilst accepting of social media’s power to influence sales, was more reluctant to allow it free reign inside their work offices. A whopping 54% of businesses interviewed said that specific policy prohibiting the use of social networking sites during office hours.
Businesses more than any other sector in society, will have the toughest role integrating and policing the use of social media. For many social media will become the number one driver of new customers and indeed CRM.
