Google+ Now Has 90 Million Users, 60% Sign In Daily
Google+ may not have the 800 million or so users that Facebook has, but at this stage of game, I am sure Google is quite happy that the young social network has managed to attract over 90 million users.
News of the latest milestone was announced by Google’s co-founder and CEO Larry Page. He made special mention of the fact that since last reported numbers three months ago, the platform has more than doubled its number of active users. Even better is the fact that user engagement seems to be increasing and according to page, they are seeing a 60% rate of user engagement among the 90 million users. This measurement of course, is based largely on the number of times a user logs into Google+.
Said Page regarding the growth of Google+: “I am super excited about the growth of Android, Gmail, and Google+, which now has 90 million users globally – well over double what I announced just three months ago. By building a meaningful relationship with our users through Google+ we will create amazing experiences across our services.”
The latest tally of Google+ users will also put Paul Allen of Ancestry.com in the shade because he’s been estimating to this point that Google+ has around 62 million users. Whatever the case, Google+ is showing healthy growth, and so it will be very interesting to see where the social network is in another 6 months or so.
