Yolo.com Domain Name Sells For $29,000

CVCV.com domains have never come cheap and the latest sale proves that even in a sluggish domain market, you can still make a pretty penny from selling one. Sedo recently brokered the sale of Yolo.com for a decent $29,000, and judging by certain indicators, the purchase was made by an end user.

Yolo.com was first registered in 1994 (think early days of Google etc.) and so I am bit surprised that it didn’t fetch more. It doesn’t appear to have been developed much over the years, and this might have contributed slightly to the $29,000 sales tag. Right now the domain itself contains a pre-launch page for what looks like some sort of business that’s about to come on stream. Judging by the image of a guy water a tree that’s producing money (literally) I would say it’s some sort of PTC or some other type of make money online venture.

This latest sale also sets Sedo up nicely to dominate the week. It was only a few days ago we wrote about another big sale for $60,000 and although it hasn’t delivered any six-figure domain sales in a while; it has managed to dominate other aftermarkets with consistent five-figure sales such as these.
