Elance Has Paid $500 Million To Contractors Since Launch

As more and more people find they have no jobs to commute to, online homeworking will continue its upward growth, and perched ready capitalize on this growth, are companies like Elance.com. Since launch, Elance has positioned itself has the number one jobs marketplace, and so far has paid out over $500 million in earnings. This level of success and presence has helped Elance partner with many incubators of entrepreneurial talent, including Startup America.

According to Startup America CEO, CEO Scott Case: “growing young companies are the job creators in our country and in order for them to scale; they need a host of vital resources. We’re excited to partner with Elance and look forward to the benefits they’ll provide Startup America Firms that are in need of virtual workers to advance their growth.” As part of the partnership, Elance has pledged over $1 million to help with the effort.

The donation will be a combination of cash and service credits on the Elance platform, and is expected to help fledgling start-ups source qualified and talented workers to help with things like marketing, web design, research and content creation. As partnerships go, this is a solid one, and perhaps will bring more attention to websites like Elance.
