Hacker Threatens To Release 1 Million Credit Card Numbers
The internet can be a breeding ground for fraud, identity theft, and financial scams since many people put so much information about themselves on the internet without knowing if the site is trustworthy or not first. Here is some information about an internet hacker who has already released thousands of credit card numbers and is threatening to release a million more:
“After releasing 15,000 credit card numbers hacked from an Israeli website on Tuesday, the Saudi hacker known as 0xOmar has released 11,000 more today. He has threatened to release a further one million.
The hacker broke into a popular Israeli sports site, making off with hundreds of thousands of accounts’ worth of personal information, including some credit card numbers.”
This is extremely scary to think of and many would not think that it would happen to them, however obviously it is happening to thousands and thousands of people on a daily basis, just from this one hack job alone.
Here is some information about why this personal information is getting hacked into:
“The core of the problem lies in the fact that payment information, such as credit cards, ID and phone numbers, and other information, is being processed and stored by tens of thousands of different merchants who aren’t equipped to handle the information. There is a real need to separate merchants from this critical private data.”
These hack jobs have become very popular in international relations in the past few years. It is important for everyone using the internet to remember that no personal information is safe and you can never be too careful. Make sure the web site is safe, secure, and legit. If something seems fishy, go about your business else where or look into the matter. You certainly won’t regret it and I’m sure these victims of this hacking wouldn’t have either.
