Juif.com Domain Name Sells For $35,000
Frank Schilling has done it again with another big-dollar domain sale. This time its Juif.com, which sold through Sedo for a decent $35,000. First registered in 2000, the domain is actually French for both Jew and Hebrew and represents a pretty decent sale given the mix of non-US domain paired with a .Com. I say that because, one would expect the pure French incarnation of the domain (TLD and all) to command a hefty price tag with variants getting only a fraction of that amount. The fact that Schilling was able to sell a variant for such a sum is quite an achievement.
The buyer is Maxim Ter-Sarkisyants and the site as at this writing is still under construction. Early speculation has pointed to the no-brainer intent of developing the domain under some theme connected with Jews. But while this conclusion is plausible, it may or may not be the case. In fact, the buyer may not even be an end user, and just a reseller looking to sit on their $35,000 investment for a bit—perhaps even flipping it for double the amount later on. Anything is possible in the world of domaining.
At any rate, it’s a good buy and a solid performance by Schilling, who had a top sale last week with the sale of Ooda.com.
