12 Year Old Writes His Own Justin Bieber App
Justin Beiber was only 12 the other day so it sort of makes sense that the kids who follow him intensely float around this age group. One of those kids, Thomas Suarez, has been making waves with the Justin Bieber App he created called ‘Bustin Jieber--a Justin Bieber whac-a-mole’. Costing just $1, the app was created using the iPhone SDK, Python Scripting and a little help from his teachers at school.
The App has been so successful that young Suarez was invited to the TEDx conference where he spoke to an audience of grown-ups about his journey from being ‘just’ a sixth grader to a fully-fledged developer and company owner (Yes, the kid owns a company, though it’s his dad who has legal ownership). With the help of is dad, Suarez has been releasing Apps through his start-up company called Carrot Corp, and by the looks of things, more Apps will be coming out in the near future.
Based on the talk he gave at the TEDx conference, many were sufficiently impressed to incite him to speak at other events and a few people commented that young Suarez could be another Steve Jobs in the making. At 12 years old and with a successful Justin Bieber App under his belt, the Jobs comparison may not be far off.
Do you think Suarez is a Steve Jobs in the making? Watch the video below and cast your opinion in the comments:
