PlayStation Vita Will Have Social Networking Apps
The PlayStation Vita is said to have the computing power of the PS3 console. Now Sony just announced that social network junkies can access their accounts through the upcoming portable gaming console. According to a press release, PS Vita will have native apps for Facebook, foursquare, Twitter and Skype. The apps will be launched after the device is available but it didn’t give a specific timeline as to when the apps would arrive.
The apps would be available for free from the Sony PlayStation store. Once the apps are installed, it could be launched from the home screen. The press release also didn’t mention whether the apps will be incorporated into the games.
People are curious as to how the various social media apps will be implemented on the PS Vita. The console is in landscape and people are wondering how Twitter feeds will be displayed. They are also speculating whether the PlayStation Vita has GPS tracking and store the data so that they can update foursquare.
