Bing Has Higher Sucess Rates Than Google
Google is still the leader in the search market by a large margin but according to a recent study, Microsoft’s Bing search engine makes users click on a web page more than Google does. The success rate for Bing search results in the United States in July was 80.4 percent, compared to 67.56 percent for Google.
The data was released by Experian Hitwise, which is a market watcher firm. It defines the success rate as the percentage of search queries that made the user visit a web site. The searches made through Yahoo properties, which source out its search to Bing, are found out to be more effective than Google as well. Yahoo properties have a success rate of 81.36 percent.
Experian Hitwise officials said that the results show that search engines have more room to improve their services. The unsuccessful searches show that the search engines can still develop to make sure that users find relevant information.
Users could also help themselves find the right content by making their queries more precise. According to the study, 25.32 percent of the users used single word in their searches. 24.09 percent are made with two words and 19.49 percent are made with three words.
