Foursquare Hits 10 Million User Mark
Popular location based social network Foursquare has just revealed that they now have 10 million people using their service. The company is happy about this achievement considering the fact that they started two years ago with only two employees.

People use Foursquare to check-in to locations and gather points in doing so. Successive check-ins to a particular location will make them the mayor there. You can lose the mayorship of a location if another person has more check-ins than you. You will also earn badges when you check-in to specific locations. This fun way of informing your friends of your particular location has made the service popular worldwide.
Today, more than half a million brands are using the services of Foursquare to connect to their customers.
Various devices have a Foursquare app ready for download such as iOS, Android, Symbian, WebOS and BlackBerry. The app takes advantage of the built-in GPS of your device to pinpoint your location and generate data of existing establishments or houses in your locality.
Now that Foursquare has reached 10 million users what is in store for them next? Dennis Crowley who co-founded the company said that they will continue making a better product and that they have still a long way to go.
