WP7 Mango Update Coming This Year
Microsoft’s smartphone operating system WP7 (Windows Phone7) will be getting a significant update later this year. The update codenamed “Mango” will introduce several important features on the WP7 platform such as support for multitasking, augmented reality, deep linking live Agents and of course Angry Birds. The company announced this during the MIX 11 event held in Las Vegas.

Although WP7 is lagging behind from other smartphone platforms such as Symbian, Android, iOS and Blackberry OS, Microsoft is confident that the WP7 platform will capture a significant share of the smartphone market now that they have partnered with Nokia to come up with various WP7 smartphone models.
The Mango update will bring true multitasking to the WP7 device. You will now be able to download any content on the Internet while listening to streamed music and working on some productivity apps. Internet Explorer 9 will also be bundled with this update which should make its way in your WP7 smartphone before the year ends. One important feature that will be included is better battery management which should squeeze in more juice from your battery before needing to be recharged.
Also in store for WP7 is the release of Angry Birds this May while Skype and Spotify will make an entrance this autumn.
