Nokia Conducts Media Event on April 12

Nokia has sent invitations to media for its event that is focused on a Symbian smartphone. The event will be held on April 12. According to BoyGeniusReport, the event will take place in London. It is still unknown if the company is going to introduce a new Symbian based smartphone or the event will be dedicated to Symbian update.

Last December it was promised by Nokia to provide about four to five updates to Symbian operating system during this year as well as in the first half of 2012. It was disclosed by senior manager at Nokia China, Gunther Kottzieper that over 50 enhancements would be added to five Symbian upgrades.

It is expected that new upgrade will offer a new feel as well as look for UI. They will get an updateable HTML5 browser, more flexible screen, as well as improved software update experience.

Apart from that it was promised by the handset maker to bring smartphones that will be based on a dual-core 1Ghz processor and feature a true zoom camera. They are expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.

HTC is also going to conduct a smartphone event on April 12 in London. It looks like it will be sort of a clash, unless both companies are going to release the already announced devices.
