Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi Only to Be Released on March 27
Motorola has officially disclosed that the Wi-Fi only model of Xoom will be available in the U.S. market starting March 27. It is expected that a price tag of the tablet will be $599.99
The 3G version of Xoom was unveiled in February. Because of its pricing many potential consumers walked away with sticker shock.
A week later Apple released the iPad 2, which features a faster processor as well as thinner and lighter body.
According to early reports, sales of Xoom 3G are underwhelming. In fact, it is not a surprise because the price of tablet put it out of reach quite a lot of consumers. Moreover, the lack of support for Adobe Flash 10.2 which was considered to be the primary differentiating feature of the tablet led to disappointment of many consumers.
The Wi-Fi only model offered with 32 GB will cost you $599 that is equivalent to the price of iPad 2. According to rumors, Flash Player 10.2 will be available this week.
Despite the fact that the Motorola Xoom will be enabled with support for Flash and it will have a new price point, still most users will gravitate towards the iPad2.
