Facebook has revealed a new suite of tools that are designed to protect users from bullying. They will help create a culture of respect among users of Facebook and foster a stronger sense of community in Facebook.

Facebook3Changes made by the social networking site pursue two main aspects: better safety center with improved tools and media resources responsible for reporting bullying and offensive content.

Apart from reporting harassing content to Facebook, users can take advantage of two important options that are more community and social centric. The reporting options provide users with the opportunity to privately send a message to the user who posted the offensive or stressful content. In case a user wants to report the content to Facebook, he is able to include a trusted authority figure, like a parent or teacher as a contact which will be included in the incident report.

Facebook is also going to add new external resources as well as educational videos from renowned experts, downloadable materials for people to discuss and share. Moreover, one can expect even more resources in the coming weeks.
