Skype Looking To Expand Its Services
Skype, the world’s largest provider of VOIP services, is looking to expand its services over onto the web. This comes at a time when the company is trying to monetize its services in a better way. This may soon come in the form of browser based plugins which will help users better connect with their accounts online. These plugins will also have premium features, which the company hopes will bring in revenue for the company. It still remains unclear whether or not these features will really include any promising features or will be just add-ons that could easily be found elsewhere for free.
Apart from the browser plugins, Skype is also looking to get some integrations with a few websites like LinkedIn, in order to expand its user base. LinkedIn refused to comment on this issue, but it is most likely that the company will indeed have a tie-in with Skype. Talks are going on with other companies as well to help expand Skype’s services on the web. This will in turn help the partners associated with Skype to expand their user base as well, so it is likely to be a win-win situation for everyone involved in the future partnership.
